Serra dos Paresis ( port. Serra dos Parecis ) is a plateau - like elevation in Brazil (state of Rond么nia , municipality of Paresis ), north-western edge of the Brazilian highlands .

The height of the elevation reaches 660 m. Extensive table plateaus composed of sandstones abruptly fall off in the south-west to the crystalline base of the plateau on the right bank of the Guapor茅 River and to the Cuiab谩 Plateau. Shrub savannahs dominate on the plateau, on the slopes - seasonally humid tropical forests . Here begin the origins of many tributaries of Madeira . At the western end of the ridge is located Pakaas-Novus National Park . Along the ridge passes Transamazon highway .
