Reedus

"Reedus" appeared in September 2011. The creator was the photo blogger Ilya Varlamov (who became the art director), the developer of the site is “ Studio of Artemy Lebedev ”, and the editors included former employees of many Russian online publications. The editor-in-chief was Vyacheslav Varvanin, in whose opinion the journalists should have covered part of the information field of “Reedus”, and the main part would be supplied by bloggers. The mission of the publication was called "the development of citizen journalism."

For the first time, this media has attracted attention several months later during the coverage of protests . On December 10, 2011, the site was viewed one day more than a million times, and by the end of the month the agency was ranked tenth in the citation rating of Medialogia Internet resources ^[2] .

The publication was suspected of collaborating with the presidential administration of the Russian Federation, the reasons being as publications from the actions of pro-government youth movements and affiliated figures. In the winter of 2012, e-mails of Kristina Potupchik , the former press secretary of Rosmolodezh, were published in RuNet, in the payroll list of which Varlamov’s name was entered: for two publications with photos of Vladimir Putin, he received 400 thousand rubles. The photoblogger himself said that he did not know anything about this money, which “could have been taken away somewhere along the way” to it. In May of the same year, the former head of Rosmolodezh, Vasily Yakemenko, in an interview stated that he had financed Reedus, but the next day the official refused his words, saying that he was “joking” like this ^[2] .

In the spring of 2012, Varvanin left the project (after that, he did not long work as the editor-in-chief of the United Russia website). From April 2012 to April 2013, Reedus was headed by Maxim Deputatov, who had previously worked for some projects of the former United Russia deputy Konstantin Rykov , who deals with the Kremlin’s Internet projects ^[2] . After this, the editorial policy of the publication has changed, the dictaphone recording of the first record of the new editor was at the disposal of the Lenta.ru publication, where he declared that he would not criticize the top officials of the state ^[2] .

By 2013, Reedus was abandoned by all employees who participated in its creation. In the future, the site began to regularly publish compromising material on the opposition, and against this background left the rating of Medialogia. In April of this year, Maxim Deputatov left the publication, after which the editorial policy of “Reedus”, according to Lenta.ru, became even more pro-governmental ^[2] .

The new chief editor and his deputy were Nikolai Valkovsky and the former chief editor of the United Russia 's Young Guard website, Andrei Gulutin, after the arrival of the last "Reedus" left about a third of the employees, who were replaced by Gulutin's colleagues at the previous place of work. At this point, the publication was experiencing financial problems and had a duty to rent the premises " ^[2] .

"Reedus" consists of two components. One is called the "Editors" and is a traditional media, with the editors and their own correspondents. The second part - "The Abyss of News" - a section where all the news written and uploaded to the site by Internet users is published. In the "Abyss" news is ranked in accordance with the reader's votes, and the top ten most popular news hits the main page. In the "official" part of the project, except for the most popular materials from the "Abyss", all the publications of the "Editors", as well as the news from the "Abyss", which the "Editors" selected there independently, fall.

Initially, the owners of “Reedus” remained unknown ^[4] , the first official owner was Leopard, Bear and Zayka LLC, created in the spring of 2011. Varlamov claimed that he chose such a name for the company, however, according to the extract of the Register, the owner of the company was a certain Yulia Sazonov (the full namesake of the former justice of the peace Yulia Sazonova ^[2] ). On May 21, 2012, RIA-Novosti reported ^[5] that ridus.ru domain, owned by Reedus online media, was transferred to KamAZ . May 22, 2012 Ilya Varlamov in his blog confirmed this information, emphasizing that Reedus’s editorial policy will remain unchanged ^[6] .

The founders of “Reedus” were the famous zyalt blogger Ilya Varlamov ^[7] , the development director of the Internet edition Lenta.ru Vyacheslav Varvanin ^[8] , the blogger ottenki-serogo Sergey Mukhamedov ^[9] .
