“Memories of the Future” ( German: Erinnerungen an die Zukunft ; in English for hire - “Chariots of the Gods” , English. Chariots of the Gods ) is a West German science-fiction documentary filmed by Austrian director Harald Reinl in 1970 based on booksellers and the ufologist Erich von Daniken 's Chariots of the Gods and Return to the Stars.

Content
Story
The film, which considers the possible origins of human civilization in the light of the paleocontact hypothesis, is trying to reconsider traditional ideas about the origins of human culture and civilization. The authors of the film put forward their version of answers to questions about who built the Egyptian pyramids , whom the statues of Easter Island depict, who and for whom painted giant paintings on the Nazca Plateau in South America ; in all cases it turns out to be aliens .
Facts
- The melody-leitmotif of the film, composed by the German composer , was used for some time as a musical intro to the television show “ Obvious - Incredible ” [1] .
