The hill extends parallel to the Ural Mountains for almost 300 km, in the south it adjoins the Subpolar Urals . The height reaches 205 m. The surface is plate-shaped . The hill is composed of sandstones and limestones . In the northern part - the tundra , in the southern - spruce and larch taiga .
The hill is named after the Russian geologist , explorer of the Urals Theodosius Chernyshev .
