The Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety ( German: Bundesministerium für Umwelt, Naturschutz und nukleare Sicherheit , BMU ) is one of the German ministries. Founded June 6, 1986 from the departments of the Ministry of the Interior, Agriculture and Health.

Organization
The minister relies on two parliamentary state secretaries and one state secretary who manages the departments of the ministry:
- Division Z: Headquarters, finance, structural issues;
- Department G: Key environmental issues, construction and urban policy;
- Division CI: International and European Climate Policy;
- WR Division: Water Management, Resource Protection;
- Division N: Conservation and sustainable use of natural resources;
- Department IG: Environment and Health, pollution control, reliability of installation and transport, chemical safety;
- Department RS: Nuclear reactor safety, radiation protection, supply of nuclear fuel and disposal of radioactive waste.
