It is located 15 kilometers north-west of the city of Kimry , on the Dubna - Kimry - Goritsy highway, and the Tver - Rozhdestveno- Ilyinskoe highway adjoins here. To the north of the village, the roads go to Pechetovo - Skornovo , Ustinovo - Neklyudovo and Trufanovo .
In the center of the village is Ilyinskoe Lake, the main street goes around the lake.

History
Since 1550, the prince Ivan Fyodorovich Mstislavsky owned the village of Ilinsky “on the lake”. In 1628, the village belonged to his daughter Princess Irina Ivanovna Mstislavsky as patrimony. In the 1780s, the village of Ilinskoe was administered by the Economy Collegium as the former property of the Moscow Archangel Cathedral , and there were 33 courtyards with 71 men and 80 women. In the village of the Prophet Elias Church. In 1806, in Ilyinsky 143 courtyards with 374 men and 436 women. In the village of the Church of the Smolensk Mother of God with the chapels of Elijah the Prophet and Nicholas the Wonderworker, there are 20 peasant wooden benches for which 35 rubles for church expenses are collected from visiting merchants for the year. Bazanov Dmitry Sergeevich (10/29/1984 - 04.14.1978) was born in Molostvov Ilinskaya volost, the author of a typewritten manuscript of memoirs - a kind of encyclopedia of the life of the peasants of Ilinskaya volost in the first 2 decades of the 20th century. The first communist of the locals in Kimry and Kimry district. He established the Soviet power in Ilinsky, took part in the creation of the self-proclaimed Kimry district. From January to April 1918 - the first chairman of the Ilyinsky Volodymyk Executive Committee, from 04/04/1918 the secretary of the Kimry district executive committee, from July 1918 the chairman of the Kimryy executive committee. Potyomkin Nikolai Antonovich (born in 1900) - chairman of the collective farm "Ray of Socialism" in Ilyinsky in 1942-1951. In 1949 he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor. In 1927, he was chairman of the first collective farm in the Suvorov volost "Batrak", located next to the Tupolev estate.
