Igor Aleksandrovich Kistyakovsky ( Ukrainian: Igor Oleksandrovich Kistyakivsky ; January 4, 1876 , Kiev - 1940 [1] , Paris ) - Russian lawyer ( civil law specialist ), Ukrainian political and public figure.

Biography

 
Igor Kistyakovsky in his youth

Father - Alexander Fedorovich , a famous lawyer and a prominent figure in the Ukrainian national movement - died when Igor was 9 years old.

He graduated from the faculty of law of the University of Kiev , then for some time there he was a privat-docent . In 1903 he moved to Moscow , was a sworn attorney . At the same time he was privat-docent of Moscow University , who left in 1911 in protest against the dismissal of liberal-minded teachers ; in 1910-1917 he taught at the Moscow Commercial Institute . As a lawyer practitioner began his work as an assistant to S. A. Muromtsev , whose closest employee was until his death in 1910. In 1912, he was one of the initiators of the restoration of the publication of the journal "Legal Herald" , the editor-in-chief of which was his brother B. A. Kistyakovsky [2] . He was a member of the cadet party .

After the October Revolution he returned to Kiev. In 1918, he held the posts of Secretary of State (May 3 - June 3) and Minister of the Interior (June 3 - October) in the government of the Ukrainian state .

 As an accomplice, he [Skoropadsky] found himself an unprincipled Moscow lawyer Igor Kistyakovsky, a cynic and completely illegible at the expense of. In August 1917 in Moscow, Kistyakovsky advocated Kornilov , in the fall - an active worker in favor of the revival of Russia and the help of the Volunteer Army , and in the spring of 1918, in Kiev, he already said that Russia was an empty place, pursued the Russian language and displayed extreme Ukrainian chauvinism.

After the fall of Skoropadsky he emigrated to Constantinople in 1919, and then in 1921 he moved to Paris . He worked as a lawyer, was a member of the board of the bank. He was a member of the Union of Russian Lawyers Abroad (from 1927 - treasurer, from 1929 - fellow chairman) and other organizations of Russian emigration.

He died in 1940, was buried in the cemetery of Sainte-Genevieve-des-Bois .

Prominent figure in Freemasonry . Initiated in the Paris box Astrea No. 500 on the recommendation of Kandaurov and Maksheyev, after a survey conducted by Bennigsen, Maksheyev and Kandaurov December 15, 1923 . Raised in the 2nd degree - March 12, 1924, in the 3rd degree - May 29, 1924 [4] . He moved to the Golden Fleece box No. 536 in 1924, and held the post of speaker there [5] . Then he returned to the Astrea box, where he held the position of first guard in 1930. Founding member of the Paris Hermes Lodge No. 535 (1926) and the first guard in it. Officially resigned from the box on April 26, 1935 [6] .
