Biography
Born on August 5, 1922 in the village of Rainbow, now Vetkovsky district, Gomel region of Belarus, in a peasant family. Belarus . He graduated from junior high school.
In the Red Army since 1941. Member of the Great Patriotic War since June 1941. He fought in the North Caucasus, the Kuban, Belarus, Lithuania, East Prussia. In 1943 he graduated from the Maykop armored school . Member of the CPSU (b) since 1943.
The commander of the tank company of the 120th separate tank brigade (5th army, 3rd Belorussian front), senior lieutenant Mikhail Batrakov, was especially distinguished in the battles during the liberation of the Baltic .
On July 26, 1944, a tank unit entrusted to Batrakov in a bloody battle broke through the enemy’s heavily fortified defenses on the right bank of the Neman River near the Lithuanian city of Kaunas . But in the rear of the Nazis, the path to the tankers of the company of the senior lieutenant Mikhail Batrakov was blocked by three dozen enemy tanks. The company of tank officer Batrakov repulsed four counterattacks, destroying fourteen tanks.

The deputy commander of the tank battalion for the technical part of the 120th tank brigade, Captain Batrakov M.G., died in battle on January 16, 1945 in East Prussia . He was buried in the Lithuanian city of Kibartai .
