About the album
Prince of Darkness was the first work of the group, recorded without the participation of one of its co-founders - bassist Vlad Janicek. From the initial composition, only guitarist Damien De Ville took part in the work on the album.
In support of Prince of Darkness, the musicians conducted two concert tours - in the UK and in Germany. In the German independent charts, the album reached second place [1] .
Style, reviews from critics
As music critic Alex Henderson noted, numerous lineup changes had little effect on the quality of the music Nosferatu created, and Prince of Darkness was no less successful than previous albums; Henderson called the disc “excellent” and praised the songs “Graveyard Shift”, “The Hunger”, “Eye of the Watcher” and “The Haunting” [2] .
Thomas Vogel, in his review in Sonic Seducer magazine, praised the disc, indicating that it was performed at a much higher level than the previous album The Prophecy , and figuratively described it as “a work created by candlelight and the scent of incense” [ 3] .
