Istihara ( Arabic. الاستخارة ) is a prayer consisting of two rakaats , after which a praying Muslim asks Allah to help him make the right decision on a particular issue.

Procedure
Istihara begins with the performance of two rak'ats of voluntary prayer (sunnat-namaz) and ends with the following prayer ( dua ): O Allah! So I ask You for the good through Your knowledge and ability through Your Power and ask (for Your mercy) from Your infinite Bounty. For truly You have Power, but I have not. You know everything, but I do not know. You are the Great Possessor of knowledge about everything.
Oh, Allah! If, according to Your Knowledge, this business becomes a blessing for my faith ( dean ), for my life and for the outcome of my affairs, then predetermine it to me and make it easy for me, and bless me in it.
But if, according to Your Knowledge, this business will become evil for my faith, for my life and for the outcome of my affairs, then take it from me and take me from it, and predetermine the benefit for me, wherever it may be, and do so that I was pleased with him [1] .
Allahumma Inni Astahiruk bi and Al'mik va Astakdiruka bi-kudratika va as'alyuka min fadlika al-a'zym, fainnak takdiru la la adiru ta'alamu wa la a'alamu wa anta a'lima-al-guyubi;
Allahum, innuta ta'alamu anna Haza-l amra heyrun li fd ddnni wa ma'ashi va akibati amri, fakdurhu li wa yasrifhu li, the sum of barik li fihi;
Va in Kunta ta'alamu anna khaza-l amra sharrun li fddnni wa ma'ashi va akibati amri, f srikhu anni va srifni anhu va akdur li-heyran heysu kana sum of ardyni bihi
اللهم ني أستخيرك بعللبك

The description of Istihar's prayer came in Hadith from Jabir bin Abdullah Al-Salami, which was transmitted in the Hadith collections of authors such as Al-Bukhari , At-Tirmidhi , An-Nasai , Abu Daud , Ibn Madja and Ahmad Ibn Hanbal .
