The Ministry of Culture of Bulgaria stimulates cultural activities in the country and is responsible for preserving its cultural heritage.

At first it existed as a separate institution in 1954-1957, formerly part of the Ministry of Education, and then actively operated under different names until it was renamed back to the Ministry of Culture in 1990 (but was merged again with the Ministry of Education for a short period of time and science in 1993).
From August 2005 to July 27, 2009, the Minister of Culture is actor Stefan Danailov from the Bulgarian Socialist Party, with deputy ministers Ivan Tokadzhiev, Inna Kileva and Nadezhda Zakharieva.
From July 27, 2009 to March 13, 2013, the Minister of Culture in the 87th government of the Republic of Bulgaria was the sculptor Vejdi Rashidov from the GERB party. He was re-appointed to this post on November 7, 2014. [1]
