History
It is not completely clear when this street appeared on the map of the city. According to one source, it has existed since 1828 [1] and was named after the name of the landlord Ivan Drebezgov. Other sources believe that the street existed in the XVIII century and bore the name of the Okhta elder [2] .
Previously, the street ran from the Neva to Sredneokhtinsky Prospekt, and in 1896 it was extended to the Bolsheokhtinsky cemetery . The street was given its modern name on December 15, 1952 in honor of the opening of the Tsimlyansk Hydroelectric Power Station in the Rostov Region . Sites east of Sredneohtinsky Prospekt and between Neva and Bolsheokhtinsky Prospekt were abolished in the mid-1950s.
