District ( isp. Rayón ) - a municipality in Mexico , the state of Chiapas , with the administrative center in the city of the same name . The population, according to the 2010 census, was 9,002 people.

General Information
The name Rayón is given in memory of General Ignacio Lopez District ( Spanish ).
The area of the municipality is 94.4 km², which is 0.1% of the state area. It borders with other municipalities of Chiapas : in the north with Tapilula , in the east with Pueblo-Nuevo-Solistauacan , in the south with Chitotole , in the west with Pantepec [3] .

Economic Activity
The working population is employed by sector in the following proportions: agriculture and cattle breeding - 62.8%, manufacturing and manufacturing industries - 12.2%, services and tourism - 23.3% [4] .

According to statistics from 2000, the infrastructure is developed as follows [4] :

- water supply: 73.6%;
- water disposal: 64.8%.
Tourism
Tourists are attracted to the Selva Negra municipality [4] .
