History
The station in Oligz (Oligz was included in the city of Solingen on August 1, 1929 ) was opened on September 25, 1867 by the Brandenburg Railway Company on the Gruiten-Cologne-Deutz railway section. The station was originally named Oligz-Wald ( German: Ohligs-Wald ). In 1890, the word Wald was removed from the name of the station. In 1894, the Düsseldorf-Solingen railway section was commissioned and the Oligz station became a junction. After the incorporation of Oligz into the city of Solingen on August 1, 1929, the station received the name Solingen-Oligz ( German: Solingen-Ohligs ).
The station in Oligza has always surpassed all other stations in Solingen in terms of its transport significance, and as a result, on December 10, 2006 it got its modern name - Solingen Main Station .
