The Ministry of Health of Belgium or the Federal State Health Service of Belgium was established by Royal Order of May 23, 2001 as part of the implementation of the plans of the first government of Guy Verhofstadt to modernize the federal administration.

It is responsible for ensuring public health, food chain safety and environmental protection.
Ministers
The FGS Health is currently responsible for at least three ministers:
- Didier Donfoot, Minister of Social Affairs and Health, charged with European affairs
- Bruno Tobbak, Minister of the Environment and Pensions
- Renaat Landuyt, Minister of Transport and the North Seas
Organizations
The FGS Health is currently divided into five Directorates-General:
- Directorate General for Medical Equipment and Equipment
- Directorate-General for Primary Care and Crisis Management
- Directorate-General for Medicines
- Directorate General for Animals, Plants and Food
- Directorate General for the Environment
It also includes three scientific institutions:
- Center for Veterinary and Agrochemical Research
- Public Health Research Institute
- Supreme Health Council
