Baghdati ( cargo. ბაღდათი ) is a city in the Imereti region in the western part of Georgia. The administrative center of the Baghdat municipality. In the years 1940-1990, it was called Mayakovsky . The status of the city was assigned in 1981.

Geography
The city is located on the Hanistskali River (the left tributary of the Rioni ), on the edge of the Ajamet Forest .
It is located at a distance of 19 km from the Rioni railway station, 25 km from the city of Kutaisi .

Culture
The city has a Mayakovsky museum and a theater. The Mayakovsky Museum was opened in 1941. It was founded in the house where V.V. Mayakovsky was born and lived for a short time. The museum of V.V. Mayakovsky is mainly photographs and his quotes. After that, a theater was built, which was named in honor of V.V. Mayakovsky. In this theater scenes from the works of V.V. Mayakovsky were shown.
