Akizovye [1] ( lat. Akysidae ) is a family of ray-finned fish from the order catfish . More than 40 species in 5 modern genera [2] .

Southeast Asia [3] . Live in freshwater [4] . Representatives of the Parakysinae subfamily are found on the Malay Peninsula , Sumatra , Sarawak , and in the western and southern parts of Borneo . [4] Most species are usually found in deeper parts of relatively fast-flowing rivers and forest streams [5] . Small-sized soma (from 3 to 15 cm) [6] with cryptic coloration and small eyes. In the dorsal fin 1 strong spine and 4 or 5 soft rays. There is a fat fin. Have 4 pairs of antennae [3] [4] [7] .
The Akysidae family is sister to a hoard formed by the families Sisoridae , Erethistidae and Aspredinidae . [4] More than 40 species (many of them are only recently described) in 5 modern genera and 2 subfamilies, one of which ( Parakysinae ) was previously considered as an independent family [2] [4] [8] :
