Bank of Thailand ( Thai. ธนาคาร แห่ง ประเทศไทย ) is the central bank of Thailand .

History
In 1851, the issuance of treasury notes began. At the end of the 19th century, the Bangkok branches of private banks issued banknotes: Bank of Indochina, the Privileged Bank of India, Australia and China, the Banking Corporation of Hong Kong and Shanghai.
In 1939, the Thai National Banking Bureau was established as a department of the Ministry of Finance, and began operations on June 24, 1940. On April 28, 1942, the state Bank of Siam was founded on the basis of the bureau. The bank began operations on December 10, 1942. In 1949, the bank was renamed the Bank of Thailand [1] .
