Barrier construction
In 2007, Iran began to build a concrete wall on the common border between the two countries. Pakistani officials did not protest this decision, as Iran built a barrier on its territory. The height of the barrier is 10-feet, reinforced with steel rods, was built along the common border of two states, passing through the territory of the historical region of Baluchistan . Their decision to isolate themselves from Pakistan with a barrier, Iranian officials explained that a large amount of drug trafficking passes through this section of the border, as well as extremist Baloch groups penetrate Iranian territory to commit terrorist acts and provocations [2] .
