History
On December 5, 1974, Pope Paul VI issued the bull Quae ampliores , which established the Diocese of Catharman, separating it from the Diocese of Borongan and Kalbayog . On the same day, the diocese of Katharman entered the Metropolitanate of Cebu .
On November 15, 1982, the Diocese of Katharman entered the Metropolitanate of Palo.
