Fine squirrels ( lat. Callosciurus , from other Greek. Κᾰλός σκίουρος "beautiful squirrel") - a genus of the squirrel family. The main habitat is Southeast Asia , although some species are found in Nepal , northeast India , Bangladesh and southern China [1] . The genus includes 15 species [1] and more than 60 subspecies.

The body length of this protein is from 13 to 27 cm, not counting the tail length from 13 to 27 cm [2] [3] . Usually they have a dull color of olive- brown, black and gray shades, sometimes with a whitish strip, but there are also bright colors [2] . For example, the Pallas squirrel has an inconspicuous gray-olive color, but the coat on the abdomen is often very bright red [4] . Squirrel Prevosta has a black back, pure white sides and a bright red belly.
Most beautiful squirrels live in tropical forests , but they can sometimes be found in urban parks. They settle on trees and feed on nuts, fruits and seeds, insects and bird eggs. 1–5 cubs are born in females.

The whitish squirrel ( Callosciurus notatus albescens ) living in Sumatra is sometimes considered as an independent species, but more often as a subspecies of the tricolor squirrel.
