This is one of several ministries of the State Council of the People's Republic of China that manage water resources.
There are several bodies responsible for water management in China. Water pollution is the responsibility of environmental authorities, but the water itself is under the responsibility of the Ministry of Water Resources. Sewerage is managed by the Ministry of Housing and Urban and Rural Development, but groundwater falls into the area of the Ministry of Land and Natural Resources. [one]
