The 2004 UEFA Champions League Final is the final match of the 2003/04 UEFA Champions League , the 49th season in the history of the European Cup and the 12th season in the history of the UEFA Champions League. This football match took place on May 26, 2004 at the Arena Aufschalke stadium in Gelsenkirchen . The match met the French “ Monaco ” and the Portuguese “ Porto ”. For Monaco, this was only the second European Cup final in history: in 1992 the club lost to the Werder Bremen Cup final .
