The creation of the Morozov town became an important stage in the development of town planning in Tver , and one of the first [1] attempts to create a neighborhood in Russia. The town occupies the area between the river. The railway and the railway in the Zatmatsk part of the city . The construction of the quarter began in 1856 with the construction of the factory "Tver Manufactory" . Along with the development of the factory, construction of housing for workers, public and household facilities began. In 1910, its territory was expanded north of Tmaka, to the present Kalinin Avenue . The old site was intended for workers, and the new one - for engineers and employees. A spinning factory building was built on the very bank of the Tmaka, in front of the southern facade of which the central square was organized. Inside the microdistrict is divided by the main street (the transverse axis), stretching from north to south, into two unequal parts. East was built up with public buildings: hospital, National Theater, shops, police station, library. The western part was built up with hostels for the workers - barracks. Along the perimeter of the town was surrounded by a wall that had two gates.
At different times, the architects A.E. Erichson , K.V.Tersky , V.Nazarov , A.Fedorov, and others worked on the layout of the quarter. The external facades are decorated in transitional style, from neo-Gothic to modern . Metal structures (profiled iron, rolled metal), reinforced concrete structures of girders, lintels and ceilings were widely used in construction.
The complex includes more than 50 buildings. The most characteristic of them are the central barracks building, which closes the perspective of the main street (the so-called barracks "Paris", aka - "House built by Savva Morozov"), and the National Theater [2] .
