Vasily Nikolayevich Karneev (Korneev) ( 1831 - June 5, 1895 , New Kuntsevo ) - Russian architect , academician of the Imperial Academy of Arts , author of many church and civil structures in Moscow. One of the founders of the Moscow Architectural Society [1] .

Biography
He graduated from the Moscow Palace Architectural School in 1857 with the title of Architectural Assistant. In 1858 he received the title of academician of architecture. In 1868-1871 he was the architect of the Grad Hospital, in 1870-1886 - the architect of the Moscow Post Office. In 1871, V. N. Karneev was appointed architect at the Moscow City Duma . While in office, he completed the project of the Duma building (1886). He served as a district architect in 1873-1894. After the collapse of the house of the Moscow Merchant Society , the construction of which, under the project of A. S. Kaminsky, was supervised by V. N. Karneev, the architect was on trial. Died June 5, 1895 in New Kuntsevo . He was buried in the territory of the Novo-Alekseevsky monastery . [2]
