History

The history of the station begins in 1973 , when the Solntsevsky (then Kiev ) radius of the Arbat-Pokrovskaya line was proposed to be held in the village of Solntsevo , which had just received the status of a city: it was supposed to go along the current Solntsevsky Avenue .

Initially, the station was designed next to the Peredelkino platform. In 1985 , with the advent of the project of high-speed chord lines , the Novoperedelkino station received a new, still existing location at the intersection of Borovsky Highway and Sholokhov Street , and the Solntsevsky radius became part of the Solntsevo - Mytishchi chord.

In the early 2000s, it was assumed that a line of the so-called “light” metro would be built in Novo-Peredelkino. In 2011, the question was raised again about building the site to Novoperedelkino in the period until 2020, but in April 2012, instead of Novoperedelkino station, it was proposed to extend the Sokolnicheskaya line to Solntsevo.

In September 2012 , after abandoning this project, it was decided to return to the development of the Solntsevskaya line project. In February 2013 , Mayor Sergei Sobyanin raised the issue of the construction of Novoperedelkino by September 2017 .

Station Opening

The station opened on August 30, 2018 as part of the Ramenki – Rasskazovka section , after putting into operation 222 stations in the Moscow Metro.

Location and Lobby

The Novoperedelkino station is located in the Novo-Peredelkino area of the Western Administrative District of Moscow, opposite House No. 36 along Borovsky Highway , northeast of the intersection with Sholokhov Street [2] [12] .

There are two underground vestibules with exits on both sides of the Borovsky Highway and Sholokhov Street [12] [13] [14] .

Architecture and Design

An open international competition was organized for the design of the Novoperedelkino and Solntsevo stations , which included requirements to use only Russian materials in the decoration and meet the design work costs of 5% of the total cost of the station. The winner was selected by the commission based on the assessments of a professional jury and the results of a survey of Moscow residents through the Active Citizen service. The design variant of the Novoperedelkino station of the Latvian architectural bureau United Riga Architects, although it did not take the first place according to the jury, gained the largest number of votes in the survey and was declared the winner. The company received the right to conclude a contract with the designer for the use of its architectural and artistic solutions with a price of 3.5 million rubles [15] [16] . In March 2017, the Moscow City Architecture Committee issued a certificate of approval of the architectural and urban planning decision to the project, which is based on the concept of the United Riga Architects bureau [17] .

The design of the station is stylized as the decoration of towers and chambers of old Moscow. On the lamps with the help of perforated metal panels, wall paintings in the form of grass ornaments are imitated, and light boxes resembling vaults are placed around the columns of the vestibules. To create soft and diffuse lighting, perforated steel plates contain light-penetrating milk panels with LED emitters inside them, which allow changing station lighting colors [15] [16] . The platform is finished with slabs of light granite, interspersed with strips of dark magnesite . The walls of the station, vestibules, stairs and passages are lined with aluminum composite panels [18] .
