Biography
Maximino Martinez was born in Hidalgo on May 30, 1888 .
At the National Autonomous University of Mexico, he received a bachelor's degree in biological sciences.
Martinez was a professor at Escuela de Agricultura de Chapingo , responsible for the “ Herbario Nacional de México ” and the “ Sección de Botánica del Museo de Historia Natural ”.
In 1941, Maximino Martinez co-founded the Botanical Society of Mexico, in which he was president and then permanent secretary.
Maximino Martinez died on June 2, 1964 .

Maximino Martinez specialized in seed plants [1] .
Honors
An endemic species of the municipality of Jucipila , Zacatecas , called Pinus maximartinezii Rzed. ( 1964 ), was named after him.
