“Kinnie” ( Malt. Kinnie ) - soft drink carbonated. It was developed in 1952 in Malta as a response to the expansion of American soft drinks ( Coca-Cola and others) [1] . “Kinney” has a dark amber color, a bitter-sweet taste. The Kinney drink is named after the main ingredient - the Kinotto variety of bitter oranges ( Citrus myrtifolia ), from which it is prepared with the addition of essential oils and spices ( anise , ginseng , licorice , rhubarb ), only 18 components. The exact recipe is kept secret. By production only natural components are used.

In 1985, a dietary version of the drink, Diet Kinnie , was introduced. In 2007, a new version of the low-calorie drink, Kinnie Zest , appeared, which has a darker color and a stronger orange flavor.
In 2009, it was planned to start producing a drink in Russia [2] , however, the matter did not seem to go beyond the contract of intent.
In the spring of 2013, Delorian LLC ( Kaliningrad ) imported into Russia a batch of the drink in plastic PET bottles with a capacity of 0.5 liters.
