Rashidov, Rashid Medzhidovich

Rashid Medzhidovich Rashidov was born in the village of Vanashi-Makhi (now Sergokalinsky district of Dagestan ) in 1928. In 1949 he graduated from the History Department of the Dagestan Pedagogical Institute . In 1958 he graduated from the Higher Literary Courses at the M. Gorky Literary Institute in Moscow. He worked at the Institute of History, Language and Literature of the Dagestan Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, was also the editor of the Dargin issue of the Friendship almanac, the editor-in-chief of the Dargin broadcasting, and headed the Dargin section of the Writers' Union of Dagestan.

The first collection of Rashidov’s poems “Dila TalihӀ” ( My happiness ) was published in 1948. Then his other collections came out: “Talikh Sarkhutachila” ( People Creating Happiness , 1951), “Nazmurti” ( Poems , 1953), “Dila Bishtati Gyalmagunas” ( To My Little Friends , 1954), “Zhibkhni” (Tsyplyata, 1956) , “Ag, Irbagin, Irbagin!” ( Ah, Ibrahim, Ibrahim!, 1961), “Barhila dark” ( Aroma of the sun , 1963), “Adamti” ( People , 1965), “Chaknani pukni urdaltuhel” ( When the eagles leave the nests , 1967), “When the bees fell asleep” (1968), “Neighbors laugh” (1969), “Early fall of color” (1972), “Your destiny” (1975), “Clarifies the day” (1980), “Hoarfrost” ( 1985), “Gunduri wa daluti” ( Roads and Songs ). Rashidov translated verses by A. S. Pushkin , M. Yu. Lermontov , V. V. Mayakovsky into the Dargin language . He translated the poem of the national poet of Belarus Yanka Kupala, “What the hell is going on there?”. A number of works by Rashidov were translated into Russian and other languages ​​of the peoples of the USSR.
