Biography

He worked as a weaver , at the age of 18 he entered college, where he studied mathematics , physics and natural philosophy. After graduation, he wrote technical articles for the Westminster Review . During this period, he met John Stuart Mill , whose ideas had a significant impact on him.

One of the main representatives of associative psychology. Founder of the magazine "Mind" (1876). In his research in the field of psychology and logic, he relies on an exact study of the natural sciences; Ben tried to figure out the nature of the inextricable link between mental phenomena and physiological processes; according to Ben, this connection is only a combination of some phenomena by others [2] .
