The Koytendag nature reserve ( Turkmen. Köýtendag goraghanasy ) is a nature reserve in the Lebap province of Turkmenistan .

Koytendag Reserve

The reserve was created in 1989 on an area of ​​27,140 ha to protect the unique mountain landscapes of the Kugitangtau ridge. In total, there are about 150 species of plants , many of them endemic . The reserve is inhabited by 21 species of mammals ( vintorhorn goat , Turkmen lynx , white-clawed bear , leopard , bearded man ), 143 species of birds , 21 - reptiles , 2 - amphibians . Archaeological and paleontological monuments are preserved - traces of dinosaurs , Karluksky caves and Kap-Kutan caves.
