Description
Small ants with a narrow cylindrical body 4.48 mm long. It differs from other species of the genus in the following characters: the sub-square shape of the head, the anterior margin of the clypeus with two lateral lobes protruding above the mandibles, abdominal segments IV to VII have highly developed pretergites, and the presence of short hairs on the dorsal surface of the abdomen. Body color is reddish brown. The posterior region of the head (occipital part) is smooth and shiny; the dorsal surface of the body is wrinkled; the space between the wrinkles is mainly smooth, with thin longitudinal grooves on the front of the head; the sloping surface of the propodeum (back of the chest) is finely punctate and mesh; the lateral surface of the mesosome and petiol is roughly sculpted, with superficial fossae and irregular meshing; the lateral parts of the abdomen are predominantly smooth and shiny, with several rough punctures. The length of the head (HL) is 0.72 mm (width 0.65), the length of the scape is 0.43 mm, the length of the eye in profile is 0.05 mm, the length of the chest (mesosomes) is 1.01 mm, the length of the petiol is 0 , 44 mm, the width of the petiol is 0.41 mm, the length of the abdomen is 2.31 mm; the ratio of the width and length of the head (CI = HW × 100 / HL) - 90.11; scapus index (ratio of length and width of scapus, SI) - 65.81; the ratio of eye length to width (OI) is 7.32. Etymology
The specific name was given in honor of the Brazilian scientist Dr. José Henrique Schoereder , an ecologist from the Universidade Federal de Viçosa University (MG, Barasilia), in whose ant collection the laboratory kept the holotype of the new taxon. [one]
