mbed is a single-board microcontroller with associated programming tools.
The current mbed hardware is based on an NXP processor with a Cortex-M3 core ( ARM architecture ), clocked at 96 MHz, 64 KB of RAM, 512 KB of flash memory, as well as Ethernet , USB , CAN , SPI I / O interfaces , I2C and others.
mbed and toolkit is developed and supported by ARM Holdings from Cambridge (England, UK).
Toolkit
The software toolkit provided with mbed is purely online. Program code is written and compiled in an IDE on the web with AJAX components. Integrated with online tools - online community support forms, code exchange and documentation.
mbed comes with a set of high-level object-oriented libraries that interact with most of the I / O interfaces on the board.
Rewards
- mbed won 1 prize at the annual EDN Innovation Awards in the Software / Embedded Tools category.
