Great Synagogue (Izyaslav)

Most likely the synagogue was built at the end of the 16th century . Initially, it was a stone structure with characteristic swept windows. Intended exclusively for men. Its southern wall adjoined directly to the city walls, which is why it was included in the city fortification system.

In the second quarter of the 17th century , the prominent Jewish theologian Nathan Hanover began his preaching work here.
