The Ataman ridge is a low-mountain massif in the Krasnoyarsk Territory of Russia , the spur Sayan [1] .

The total length of the ridge is 68 km. The maximum height is 550 m. The Ataman ridge is located in the temperate zone with a well-defined continentality. Most often, masses of continental polar air and, less often, arctic come to the area of the ridge. Throughout the year, cyclones come from the southwest (63%). The average annual air temperature is 1.4 ° С, the average January temperature is about −18.8 ° С, and July - 18.3 ° С.
The average rainfall is 388 mm per year. Permanent snow cover is established by the beginning of November and lasts until the second decade of March , while the maximum snow cover reaches 83 cm. In open areas, the thickness of the snow cover is small, so the soil freezes to a depth of 130-150 cm. The duration of the growing season with temperatures above 5 ° C is 105-120 days.
