Designation and Design

In different states and countries, carton figures have acquired different names. In particular, aces in card decks issued in different states and countries are indicated by different letters in Cyrillic and Latin letters or numbers:

  • Russia - “T” (from Russian Ace )
  • Germany - "A" (from German. As - As )
  • USA - “A” (from English Ace )
  • France - “1”

The traditional ace design includes one suit point in the center of the card. On modern maps in two opposite corners (less often - in all four) an index is given - an alphanumeric designation and a reduced suit symbol. In decks produced in English-speaking states and countries, for historical reasons, the ace of spades has a decorative design. The ace of diamonds is decoratively decorated in the most common satin deck in Russia. In other decks, all aces can be simple or all decorative.

Earlier in the Russian language there were game (card) proverbs (sayings) “ Bring the affairs under the monastery ”, that is, kill the king with an ace or “ Let Grandfather under the monastery ” (that is, a card for slaughter [4] , kill the king [5] ), now proverbs have a different meaning.
