Biography
Jean-Claude in the 1960s and 1970s was a frequent guest at the starts of major European races. Including races such as the World Rally Championship and the 24 hours of Le Mans . Jean-Claude Andre in 1970 won the European Rally Championship . In 1973, in a team with his navigator Michel Espinosi-Petit in an Alpine 110, he won the Monte Carlo Rally , the first race in the history of the FIA World Rally Championship. A year later, at the Lancia Stratos HF, he won the Corsica Rally . The third and final victory of his career was in 1977 at the San Remo Rally . Also on his account three victories in the race "Automobile Tour De France" in 1972, 1981 and 1982. The best place at the Le Mans race is fifth in 1972 and 1981 at the wheel of a Ferrari.
His son, Gilles Andrew , was killed in 1995 .
