Geography

Located on the shores of Lake Baikal at the source of the Angara River (left bank), 60 km south-east of Irkutsk and 94 km from the district center - the city of Slyudyanka . Among the inhabitants of the Baikal region, the village is more often called Port-Baikal. The buildings of the village are located on a narrow strip of the lake shore along the line of the Circum-Baikal Railway ( Circum- Baikal Railway) and inside four gaps . The largest and branched is called the “ram” [2] , the other, narrow and long, is called the “Click”. Two more, with dacha plots located in them, go to the bank of the Angara.

Transportation

Transport junction with the Baikal railway station (the final point of the Circum-Baikal railway) and the Baikal port. Car ferry across Angara to Listvyanka .

Infrastructure

The main secondary school, House of Culture, obstetric station.

Economy

Ship repair Railroad station. Baikal water bottling plant. Subsidiary farms. Tourism - in the village a number of guest complexes and tourist centers.
