Biography
Born in a Kazakh family from the Berish clan of the Bayuli tribe [3] . In 1958 he graduated from the Moscow Petroleum Institute named after I.M. Gubkin , a mechanical engineer. Since 1958, he was the senior operator of the oil refinery (the village of Karaton, Guryev Region ), and since 1959, he was the head of the oil production department Teren-Uzyuk .
Since 1959 - at the Komsomol and party work:
- 1959-1961 - First Secretary of the Zhilokosinsky District Committee of the Komsomol of Kazakhstan (Guryev region). In 1960 he joined the Communist Party ;
- September 1961 - January 1963 - First Secretary of the Guryev Regional Committee of the Komsomol of Kazakhstan;
- 1963-1964 - Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Bureau of the West Kazakhstan Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan in Aktau, Guryev Region;
- 1964-1968 - second secretary of the Shevchenko city committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan in the Guryev region.
In 1968-1970 - student of the Higher Party School under the Central Committee of the CPSU .
- in 1970 - chairman of the Guryev Regional Council of Trade Unions;
- December 1970 - January 1978 - First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Komsomol of Kazakhstan;
- 1978-1979 - Second Secretary of the Tselinograd Regional Committee of the Communist Party of Kazakhstan.
- 1979-1980 - Senior Inspector of the Inspection Directorate of the KGB of the USSR;
- 1980 - Deputy Chairman of the KGB of the Kazakh SSR;
- 1980-1982 - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Kazakh SSR;
- February 1982—1985 - Chairman of the KGB of the Kazakh SSR;
- 1985-1988 - Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Kazakh SSR.
From February to December 1988 - Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR. Since 1988 - retired.
The author of the books "Lenin's Testament is True" (1974); “Faithful Assistant to the Party” (1978).
He was elected a candidate member of the Central Committee of the CPSU (1986-1989), a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Kazakh SSR, a member of the Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Kazakh SSR, a deputy of the Council of Nationalities of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of the 11th convocation (1984-1989) from the Kazakh SSR, and a deputy of the Supreme Council of the Kazakh SSR.
