Park of the 850th anniversary of Moscow

The park is located on the left bank of the Moskva River , a 10-15 minute walk from the Maryino metro station . It is located between the Moskva River and the highway, which includes Bataysky passage and Porechnaya street on both sides of the Brateevsky bridge .

The park was inaugurated in 1997 , on the anniversary of the 850th anniversary of the city. On the opening day of the park, a memorial stone was erected on its territory ^[1] .

The park stretches along the banks of the Moscow River ^[2] . Its area is 71.6 hectares . After the construction of the third stage (to Stavropol Street), the park’s area will increase by about a third and will amount to about 200 hectares ^{[3] [4]} .

By the day of the city in 2012, the park laid one of the first bicycle paths in Moscow from the Maryino district to the Kapotnya district ^[5] .

In 2017, as part of the program of the city of Moscow on the development of the leisure and tourism industry for 2012-2018, reconstruction of the first stage of the park along Bataisky passage began . In the process of its implementation, the park will be equipped with multifunctional sports fields, an ice rink, pitches for table tennis, as well as a bicycle path ^[6] .

Student Monument Monument

Monument to the "Happy Pyatak". Opened June 27, 2008. Designed by students of the Moscow Architectural Institute . It is a five-meter circle made of red granite with the names of many Moscow universities . In the center of the monument is a metal “nickel” of the 1978 model, next to it are worn boots that you can “try on” and a bronze student record book if you wish. They say it brings good luck in exams.

Architectural Complex "Good Angel of the World"

June 8, 2007, on the eve of the Day of Russia , in the park of the 850th anniversary of Moscow, the grand opening of the Architectural and Park Complex “Good Angel of Peace” took place in Moscow. The monument is a symbol of peace and a tribute to the patrons of the twentieth century.

Monument to Hans Christian Andersen

The monument to the famous Danish storyteller (prose writer and poet) was opened on October 14, 2017. The authors are the honored artists of Armenia and Russia, Vahe and Michael Sogoyan. These sculptors are known for the monument “Innocent victims, benevolent hearts,” dedicated to the victims of the 1988 Spitak earthquake in Gyumri . In addition to the storyteller of the 19th century, Thumbelina entered the sculpture, which sits on the writer’s top hat, the Ugly duckling and the mystical umbrella Ole Lukoye walking nearby - Andersen holds it in his hand.

The memorial stone at the site of the future monument was laid back in 2005.
