Sands ( Ukrainian Piski ) - a village in the Brodovsky district of the Lviv region of Ukraine , part of the Leshnevsky village council. It is located 2.5 km southwest of Leshnev and 18 km by road north of the city of Brody .

History
In the middle of the XIX century, the village belonged to the Brody district of the Zolochev Galicia region [1] . In 1880, it (along with the village of Lesovoye ) consisted of 791 residents (and 6 in the vicinity), including 117 Roman Catholics and 537 Greek Catholics , there was a branch of the school (founded in 1874) with instruction in the Ukrainian language [2 ] .
In 1939, she belonged to the commune of Lesznev [3] of the Brodowski County of Tarnopolskie Voivodeship of Poland; about 920 people (830 Ukrainians, 85 , 5 Jews ) lived in it (together with the village of Lesovoye) [4] . In the same year, the village became part of the Lviv region of the Ukrainian SSR , in 1968 [5] and 1978 [6] it was part of the Leshnivsky village council.
In 1989, the population was 456 people (208 men, 248 women) [7] . According to the 2001 census, the population was 542 people [8] , almost all (99.45%) named Ukrainian as their native language, 1 person (0.18%) - Moldavian [7] .
There are a first-level school, a public house of the Enlightenment society, a library, and shops. In 1991, the church of the Apostles Peter and Paul ( UAOC ) was built [9] .
