He is a descendant of Ernest Ventura Shackleton and Jacques Ventura Cousteau . Initially, he lived in Miami , working as a private detective to find missing animals.

Ace Ventura: Pet Tracing

After an unknown kidnap a dolphin nicknamed Snezhok, the Miami Dolphins mascot of the American football team , their spokeswoman Melissa Robinson turns to Ace Ventura for help.

Prowling in search of evidence, Ace descends into the Snezhka reservoir, and finds an amber stone of rare manufacture. During the investigation, he learns that these stones are part of the rings, which in 1984 from the American football conference received all the players on the team.

Ace concludes that the kidnapper is the player in whose ring there is no stone, but in the end it turns out that everyone has amber.

Soon, the administrator of the dolphin team, Roger Podacter, dies, falling out of the window of his apartment. Ventura tries to connect the death of the team manager with the loss of Snezhka and accidentally learns about the existence of another Dolphin player, named Ray Finkle, who was not on the list and was not checked for amber. Melissa explains Finkle’s absence in group photography by the fact that he joined the team only in the middle of the season. It turns out that Finkle’s career was rather unsuccessful, in the final match of that year in the last seconds of the game he did not score a decisive goal, because of the “Dolphins ” they lost the Super Bowl . Ray tried to continue his performance in the championship, but the team did not renew his contract.

The detective goes to his hometown of Finkle, Tampa , and meets his elderly parents. Ventura learns that Finkle terribly hates another Dolphin player Dan Marino , who in that ill-fated match to put the decisive shot put the ball lacing to the player, and not to the goal, because of which Finkl missed the shot, and the team lost. Ventura and Melissa decide that Marino is in mortal danger, but he is kidnapped before they have time to do anything.

Ace returns to Miami and tells everything to police lieutenant Louis Einhorn, who is investigating the case. He suggests that the motive for the kidnapping of the dolphin is the fact that Snow was assigned the fifth command number that once belonged to Finkle. He took this as an insult and decided to release all the accumulated malice on the unfortunate aquatic animal. However, Louis does not want to take his arguments seriously.

In search of Ray Finkle, Ventura visits a mental hospital called Shady Lands, in which he was once forcibly placed and then escaped. Portraying an insane football player, the detective examines the pantry of the hospital, where he finds a box with Ray's personal belongings. Among them, he discovers an article cut from a newspaper in which he reports of the disappearance of a girl named Louis Einhorn, whose body was never found. Ace asks his friend Emilio from the police station for help. He searches Einhorn's desktop and finds a love letter addressed to her from Roger Podacter.

All attempts to find at least some kind of connection between Finkle and Einhorn fail unsuccessfully, until by chance one of Ace Ventura's dogs lies on Finkle's photo. The dog's fur is arranged in such a way that it seems as if Finkle has long hair. Watching this, Ace realizes that Lieutenant Louis Einhorn is in fact the former footballer Ray Finkle, who changed sex .

Pursuing the suspect, Ace ends up in port depots, where he finds the abducted Snezhka and Dan Marino. Einhorn-Finkle catches him and immediately calls the police. When the police arrive and are about to arrest the detective (according to her order), Melissa and Emilio appear and save Ventura. Ventura explains to everyone gathered Finkle’s motives and the fact that Einhorn is not really who he claims to be. As evidence, he tears off her dress and indicates that Louis has a penis . The guilty person is arrested, and Ventura, previously subjected to ridicule by the police, earns credibility.

Ace Ventura 2: When Nature Calls

Ace Ventura, who is trying to save a raccoon from falling into the abyss, does not manage to keep him, which leads to the death of the animal. The incident puts Ace in a state of severe shock, after which he ceases to engage in private investigation and goes to monasticism . However, when his solitary life in the temple is violated by the offer of a significant amount of money, the hero decides to return to his beloved business.

This time he is instructed to find the missing bat , the sacred animal of the African tribe of Vachati. It is necessary to find the animal before the wedding of the leader’s daughter with a representative of Vachutu, in order to prevent war. Despite his chiropophobia (fear of bats), Ace decides to take up the search.

During the investigation, Ventura concludes that the employer who stole the bat for personal gain is guilty of theft. Overcoming his fear, he returns the bats creature Vachati, preventing the brewing feud.
