Sigi ( Swahili Sigi Mto ) is a river in the Tanga region, north-east of Tanzania , 100 km long.

Current
It originates in the Amani reserve, on the eastern slopes of the Usambara mountain range. The height of the source is about 920 meters above sea level [1] [2] . It flows mainly to the east and flows into the Gulf of Tanga of the Indian Ocean , 40 km north of the city of the same name [3] . The catchment area is 1,100 km² [2] .
In 1978 [4] a dam near the village of Mabayani was commissioned. [5] The reservoir is about 3500 m long and 400 m wide. It is located 20 km from Tangi.
