Geography
Dahabon Province is located in the northwest of the Dominican Republic, and its western border is also the border with Haiti. The border with Haiti runs along the Rio Dahabon River . In the south of the province lies the mountain range of Central Cordillera . The administrative center of the province is the city of Dahabon . Neighboring provinces are Elias Pinha , Santiago Rodriguez and Monte Cristi . In addition to the cities of Dahabon, also El Pino, Restavrasion, Loma de Cabrera and Patrido are considered the largest settlements of the Dahabon province.
History
Dahabon Province was isolated from the province of Monte Cristi in 1938 and until 1961 was called Libertador .

Economics
The basis of the economy of Dahabon is agriculture. In addition to traditional tropical products, rice and tobacco are grown in large quantities here. Dairy farming is also developed. Cross-border trade with Haiti is also of great importance.
