Crescendo (festival)

Crescendo Music Festival is an annual forum (event) of young Russian musicians , a festival of a new generation of Russian performing school. It is carried out by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation , the Russian State Theater Agency , and the Administration of the Pskov Region .

The name of the festival comes from a musical term denoting a gradual increase in sound power. In notes, crescendo is indicated by a “<”, or abbreviated cresc.

Appearance

The idea of ​​holding a music festival came from the famous Russian producer, Honored Art Worker of Russia, Professor David Smelyansky [1] in the summer of 2003. He invited the famous pianist Denis Matsuev , the winner of the XI International Tchaikovsky Competition , who became the co-author of the project, to collaborate. The festival was "born" in the Pskov Kremlin at one of the rehearsals of the program dedicated to the celebration of the 1100th anniversary of Pskov . [2]

The idea of ​​holding the Crescendo festival was approved by the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin . It was decided to hold an annual festival under the auspices of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation .

Organizers

The organizer of the music festival "Crescendo" is the Russian State Theater Agency (RGTA).

RGTA participates in the creation and rental of theater performances, musical projects, organizes tours of theaters and musical groups in Russia and abroad. The idea of ​​creating the agency belongs to its permanent leader, David Yakovlevich Smelyansky [1] in May 2003 .

D. Ya. Smelyansky was the first in Russia to be awarded the Diaghilev Prize "For the revival of the profession of theater producer in Russia" [5] .
