Vladimir Aleksandrovich Preobrazhensky (1912–1981) was a Soviet ballet soloist and ballet teacher. Honored Artist of the USSR ( 1941 ). Honored Artist of the RSFSR ( 1951 ). Winner of the Stalin Prize of the first degree ( 1946 ).

Biography
V.A. Preobrazhensky was born on January 8 (21), 1912 in St. Petersburg . In 1931 he graduated from the Leningrad Choreographic School (teacher V.I. Ponomarev ). In 1931–1935, the soloist of LATOB named after S.Kirov , in 1935–1939 - of Sverdlovsk ATOB named after A. Lunacharsky , in 1939–1941 - KUATOB named after T.G. Shevchenko , in 1942-1958 - GABT (in 1960-1962, the head of the ballet troupe). In his art, romantic feelings were combined with a realistic way of expressing them in stage action. His emotionally intense, dynamic dance was distinguished by its sculptural poses. As a master of duet dance, he was a partner of G. S. Ulanova , O. V. Lepeshinskaya and others.
He staged the ballet performance “Swan Lake” by P. I. Tchaikovsky in Lviv UATOB , a number of concert numbers. In 1935-1939 he taught at the ballet school at the Sverdlovsk Atob, in 1946-1955 - in the Moscow Art School and GITIS . In 1963-1965, artistic director of the Moscow National Theater at the Palace of Hammer and Sickle Plant , since 1965 - the ballet collective of Mosconcert .
V.A. Preobrazhensky died on February 24, 1981 in Moscow.
