[1] [2] The song was recorded in one session with "Breathe on Me", and was originally supposed to go into In the Zone (2003). The version where Taylor became the producer resembles the electronics genre of Madonna in Ray of Light (1998), with the participation of the flamenco guitar and the remarkable vocals of Spears. [2] "And Then We Kiss" became a British and Japanese bonus track in Britney & Kevin: Chaotic (2005), but was replaced by "Over to You Now" for unknown reasons. [3]
The song was remixed by Junkie XL and released on her remix album B in the Mix: The Remixes (2005). In the list of creators, both Taylor and Junkie XL were producers of the song. All instruments, including guitar , bass , synthesizer and drums , were used by Junkie XL. Mastering took Chaz Harper to Battery Mastering. [4] In September 2005, Billboard announced that the remix would be used for an advertising campaign for the Spears Fantasy perfume. [5] The Junkie XL Remix was released by a promo with B in the Mix: The Remixes on October 31, 2005 in Australia and New Zealand along with "And Then We Kiss." [2] [6] [7] The version of the song produced by Taylor remained unreleased for years until the new song mix was called the original song, which was leaked to the Internet on September 2, 2011. After speculation that it might be a fake, Taylor confirmed the authorship Bradley Stern of Muumuse.com September 5, 2011. [2]

"And Then We Kiss" lasts four minutes and twenty eight seconds. This is a Euro-trance song with techno influence and the use of synthesizers . [8] The song combines dance-rock guitars and symphonic string instruments with orchestral overtones. [8] [9] The words are about kissing and various feelings that are protagonists of the song, including trembling, crying and moaning. In the beginning, she sings the lines “I Lie Alone / I Touch My Skin”, which suggests that maybe the whole song is just really a fantasy. [8] Spears vocals are much less noticeable than in the original version. [2] In an interview with About.com, Junkie XL said that he would like to turn the song “into the 2006 version of Enjoy the Silence with real powerful electronic rhythms and a nice melodic guitar. Despite the fact that [Britney] sings in it, it could be a track from my album, because it is on the same wave. I am really pleased with the final result, as well as they. ” [ten]
