José Francisco Blake Mora ( Spanish: José Francisco Blake Mora ; May 22, 1966 , Tijuana , Baja California , Mexico - November 11, 2011 , Santa Catarina Aiocingo , Chalco Municipality, Mexico City , Mexico ) - Mexican lawyer and politician who held the post of Minister of the Interior under President Felipe Calderon from 2010 to 2011 [1] .

Biography

Blake Mora was born into a working-class family [2] . He earned a law degree from the and a diploma in strategic planning and public policy from the .

In 1995-1998, Blake Mora was an alderman of Tijuana , in 2000-2003 - a federal deputy of the LVIII Legislature of the 5th Federal Electoral District of Baja California, and in 2004-2007 - a member of the Congress of Baja California [3] .

On November 1, 2007, Governor appointed Blake Maura Secretary General of the Baja California Government [4] . In 2009, he was named as a possible candidate for the position of [5] . On July 14, 2010, President Felipe Calderon appointed Blake Mora as Minister of the Interior.

Blake Mora was a key figure in the struggle of the authorities against corruption and took an active part in discussing issues related to the political opposition of Felipe Caldernon to drug cartels [6] . He traveled a lot to meet with governors and victims of a competitive war between drug dealers [7] .

He died on November 11, 2011 as a result of a helicopter crash [8] .

On October 11, 2012 in Tijuana, President Felipe Calderon opened a boulevard named after Francisco Blake Mora [9] .
