Huancayo ( Spanish: Provincia de Huancayo , Quechua Wankayuq pruwinsya ) is one of the 9 provinces of the Peruvian region of Huning . The area is 3,558.10 km². According to 2007 data, the population is 466,346 people [1] . The population density is 131.1 people / km². The capital is the city of the same name.

History
The province was formed on November 16, 1864.
Geography
Located in the south of the central part of the region. It borders with the provinces: Satipo (in the east), Chupaka (in the northwest), Concepcion (in the north), as well as with the regions of Lima (in the west) and Huancavelík (in the south).
