Brovko, Valery Leonardovich

Valery Leonardovich Brovko ( June 24, 1950 [1] - December 7, 2015 ) - Soviet and Russian composer, arranger, musician, producer. Member of the Union of Composers , winner of the Nika Award for the film "The Case of Joseph Brodsky" ( 1991 ), laureate of the Third All-Russian Composers Competition named after A. Petrova ( 2009 ). [2] [3]

Biography

In the 1960s and 70s, he was the guitarist of various groups and professional groups: Argonauts, Up and Down, Singing Guitars , Pomors, and others. He worked as a musical director in the Smolensk Drama Theater , the variety show "Brigantine", "Troika", as well as the instrumental group Valery Leontyev , the studio group "Bridge". As a composer, he collaborated with such directors as Eldar Ryazanov , Georgy Danelia , Vladislav Druzhinin , Oleg Ryabokon , Peter Shumeiko , and as an arranger, he worked with composers Andrei Petrov , Mark Fradkin , Mikael Tariverdiev , David Tukhmanov , Sergey Zh . Basner , Elena Surzhikova , Laura Quint . [3]

Valery Brovko - the author of music for drama performances in the theaters of St. Petersburg , Smolensk , Tallinn , [2] as well as educational musical aids, quite often collaborated with the famous Petersburg poet Tatyana Kalinina .

Producer and editor-in-chief of the series "The Best of Russian Rock". The chief music editor of the album “Songs about our city”, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of St. Petersburg.

He lived and worked in St. Petersburg . He was buried at Volkovsky cemetery.
